- Protect yourself: ignore suspicious links, files, and calls
Suspicious links, files, and phone calls are among the most common ways scammers gain access to your data and money. A single click or installing an unknown file can be enough to infect your device with malicious software.
To stay safe:
• do not download files or apps from messages, even if they appear to come from someone you know — verify first through another channel;
• avoid clicking links in SMS messages, messengers, or emails if you’re not sure about the sender, especially if they ask you to “confirm,” “update,” “restore access,” or promise bonuses;
• never share any information in response to unexpected calls or messages — it’s better to end the call and dial the official number yourself;
• carefully check website addresses, as scammers often fake them by changing one or two letters.
If you’ve already clicked a link or downloaded a file and feel uncertain, stop immediately and contact the bank as soon as possible using official channels.
